Privacy notice
Last updated 10 October 2026
This notice explains what we do with the details you give us when you ask for a quote or book work. We keep it simple: we only use your details to sort out your vehicle.
Who we are
VS Mobile Mechanics, a mobile vehicle repair business covering Suffolk and Essex. We decide how your information is used, which makes us the “data controller”.
Phone or WhatsApp: 07512 692561
Email: mobilecarservices12@gmail.com
What we collect
When you use the quote form, call, text, WhatsApp or email us, we may collect:
- your name, phone number and email address
- your vehicle registration and details about the vehicle
- your postcode or town, and where the vehicle is parked
- a description of the problem or the work you need
If we carry out work for you, we also keep a record of the job, the price and payment.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and give you a quote. This is a step you’ve asked us to take before any agreement, which is our lawful basis under UK GDPR.
- To carry out and invoice the work. This is needed to perform our agreement with you.
- To keep business and tax records. The law requires us to do this.
We don’t send marketing, and we never sell or share your details with anyone for their own use.
How the website handles it
The quote form doesn’t store anything on the website. Your details are sent straight to our email inbox. If you choose “Send on WhatsApp”, the message goes through WhatsApp like any other chat.
The website doesn’t use cookies, tracking or advertising tools.
Who else handles it
We use a few trusted services to run the business. They handle data on our behalf and can’t use it for themselves:
- Cloudflare hosts the website and delivers quote-form emails.
- Google provides our email (Gmail) and the fonts used on this website. Loading the fonts means your browser contacts Google, which sees your IP address.
- WhatsApp (Meta) carries messages if you contact us that way.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. When they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK data protection law.
We’ll only share your details with anyone else if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t lead to a job are deleted within 12 months.
- Job and payment records are kept for as long as HMRC requires business records to be kept, which is at least 5 years after the 31 January tax return deadline for that year.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- correct anything that’s wrong
- delete your information, unless we have to keep it by law
- stop using your information, or limit how we use it
Just call, WhatsApp or email us using the details above. We’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
